It was a normal Sunday afternoon, I was hoping to go to the Farmer’s Market that they hold only once a month.I wanted to see how special it would be since it was only once a month. I entered and saw the usual stands, cheese, fruits, and vegetables. Then you walk in and you see there are people displaying and selling their artwork, which was beautiful and original.
I went to the St. Nectaire cheese stand and I saw my favorite cheese maker, so I immediately bought half a round of cheese. Their cheese is the best. You can see the brand of cheese in my old post, here. Then I turned around and saw a crowd that had formed. I went in to see, and discovered a French actress was there! Along with the French radio, France Bleu! The actress was Mélanie Laurent, a French actress, singer, pianist, screenwriter, and director. You might know her from her role as Shosanna Dreyfus, who seeks to avenge the Nazis’ execution of her family. She also played a supporting role in the film, Now You See Me. At the Famer’s Market, she was there promoting her documentary, Demain ,or tomorrow.
Demain: Filmmakers Mélanie Laurent and Cyril Dion travel worldwide to investigate concrete solutions to environmental and social challenges. It is not a recent documentary but it has received good reviews. After hearing her talk to people about her film and interviewing local farmers. I left since the interview was over an hour and I needed to get some fruit! I got some beautiful strawberries. After that, I got some flowers, baguette and I walked to another Farmer’s market, the one from my old post, and I bought a beautiful vase for only 5 euros. The man said it was his parents and it was over 50 years old, yet it was in perfect shape.
So, it is fun to be surprised! Going to a Farmer’s Market and not knowing that there would be a celebrity, very close to you without any bodyguards made her seem very down to earth, which she is, she wants to help the earth and us too. So the next generation can live to see polar bears or any animal that is going extinct due to climate change. Since we created pollution but we can stop it too.
