site de rencontre montlucon 03 After almost a year of coming to France, I revisited my second Castle, the castle of Chambord. I was astonished of how a castle looked like in real life because I’ve seen several in pictures and movies but staring at it in real life is totally different. It was breathtaking, massive and unbelievable I never really thought that I would see something so massive in my life. The architecture was astonishing, the interior was immense and walking into the king’s chamber was breathtaking, he would have never thought that his “house” would be displayed publically.
After reminiscing, I can tell you what happened on July 22nd. We went to Chambord because we were around to neighborhood; so we decided to take advantage of that thus, we planned to have a small picnic together. BUT we did not plan that the weather would not be so cooperative, So while we got there it was cloudy. Plus we parked far away because we did not want to pay over 20 euros, I believe for parking, plus we were going to be there for an hour so it was not worth the money. We found the closest free parking that was a nice 10-minute walk towards the castle.
I thought to myself “ well it shouldn’t rain, the clouds don’t look that dark.” Moments later, we were at the halfway point; that’s when it started to pour… We ran to the nearest tree to cover ourselves from the rain. Golf Kart, after Golf Kart passed and they either stared at us or tried to avoid eye contact. None of them offered to give us a ride. So we were standing there in the cold, wet rain. It was raining harder and harder until it calmed down and we ran to the castle’s nearest tree’s because I saw that the guards were not letting people pile up there unless they paid for their entrance or have had already paid. So we waited in the tree and had lunch before it got cold.
After finishing our lunch, I was soaking wet and Boris was shivering because he was smart enough to take shorts and SANDALS so we ran to the Chambord’s community church for cover, I was surprised there were not many people there, only people came and took pictures then left or came to pay their respects.
After waiting until the weather stopped; we both noticed it would not get any better so we ran to Chambord’s “city center”. Where they have shops and restaurants. This time they also had a Marché or an open air market where locals sell their goods. There was one stand in particular that caught my appetite, it was a marmalade stand where they sold homemade jam. There was much variety and all were delicious. So we decided and bought something not so original as strawberry or blackberry jam; but instead, we bought WINE Jam, yup wine jam. I sure felt like royalty after buying it. I couldn’t wait to eat it.
A little after buying the jam the rain ceased. I was so happy because I could finally dry off and enjoy the beautiful sunny skies…but only for a moment.
