here I usually do not do any crafts but there is always a first! I was feeling inspired thus I made a leaf bowl out of old magazines. This project would be great to do with kids by printing out an easier leaf template than mine or using fake leaves! That way you just glue them, if you want to skip the cutting.
What you need:
http://devrimcicephe.org/vistawkoe/2819 -Cardboard or an old cereal box
-Pam or oil
-scissors or box cutter
-paper mache glue

Let’s start off by printing out our leaf, then cut it out into a cardboard. If you have no cardboard laying around then you can use an old cereal box. That is what I did.
After that get your magazine pages and start cutting. I cut 5 at a time with scissors which took longer than with box cutter. So if you want your kids to help its best to avoid the box cutter.I cut out over 30 so the bowl would not be so thin.
After that is done get a medium-sized bowl; or a larger bowl but you will need to cut out more leaves.
Then grease the bowl lightly with Pam or brush it with oil after that wrap it in plastic wrap.
*The oil is used so you can easily pull out the bowl without it breaking*

Time to get gluing, I used paper mache glue which is http://freejobseeker.com/tag/www-pspcl-in/ equal parts water and flour.
watch Meaning 1 cup of water to 1 cup of flour. If it is still pretty thick, just add more water.
Then stick those leaves in the bowl, you can do it however you’d like but at the end I recommend you place leaves upwards so it gives it a nice look.
Then leave it to dry overnight and voila! It is finished, unless you would like to paint it.
I left it as is since I had no paint and I liked the look.
But if you would like to paint it I suggest you paint it while it is still stuck to the bowl.Since the wetness of the paint may make the paper weak and it will fall apart.
Then let it dry and after that slowly remove the plastic wrap from the edges and slide it away from the bowl.
Afterwards boom, it is done!
How simple was it?This activity is great for families and kids, or anyone who has a lot of magazines laying around. Let’s be real, who honestly re-reads old magazines. They are just for bathroom decor. Let’s put it to actual use and get craftin’!
